A major theme that FABRICations has been focusing on in recent years is the "Smart Urban Mix"— a combination of living, working, and leisure spaces within the city. At FABRICations ongoing project Innovatie Kwartier Den Bosch (IKDB) this concept is fully embodied.
Additionally, the site connects a green corridor (De Groene Loper) from the station to the Dieze and will be pedestrian friendly thus enhancing walkability.
What makes the project particularly unique is its double ground level design, which facilitates interaction among people across different levels of the buildings and aims to provide a comfortable living and interaction environment.
Current status: The city council has approved our development plan, making this the ultimate hub for innovation in data, ICT, and education. IKDB will become a vibrant district where working, living and leisure seamlessly intertwine.
IKDB involves an area in Den Bosch where two-thirds of the space will be dedicated to work and one-third to residential living. The area is adjacent to the city center and is thus part of a broader urban inner core known as the Brede Binnenstad.
This former industrial area called Grasso will soon be transformed into a mixed use area that will be on the forefront of innovation and is located just 300 meters from the railway station. Key aspects of this project are qualitative interconnected green spaces, diversity to encourage interactions between users and the dialogue between its history and future.
